NEURODIVERSITY – NEURODIVERGENT VS NEUROTYPICAL

Human beings are born with many differences, such as the colour of our eyes, skin and hair. We are all different, having different interests, hobbies, something that we are good at and something that we struggle with. This is recognised as DIVERSITY.

Humans have different types of brains, that we call NEURODIVERSITY.

On pain and recovery

During my psychotherapeutic training, one tutor used to say quite often “Stay with the feeling, stay with the feeling, when you are with your client”. This is actually very important, especially when some feelings, like pain, have been stored inside us for a long time or when it is too difficult to deal with that pain.

Melanie Beattie, an American author, in her book The Language of Letting go said about pain and how to stop our pain:

I have read an interesting article called “Ghosts in the Nursery – a psychoanalytic approach to the problems of impaired infant-mother relationships” written by Selma Fraiberg, Edna Adelson and Vivian Shapiro. I collect information to provide a service to you. When you contact me, I use your information to contact you about my therapeutic work, and to arrange an initial assessment session. After that, if we agree to start with therapy, you need to complete a personal information form and sign a contract electronically or in person. All communication is kept securely protected. I do not share, sell, or disclose any information collected during the therapeutic process to third parties. Your information will be held only for data processing purposes.


If we agree to start working with under 18s, all communication outside sessions will be with a parent(s).
